Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Qatar Airways have launched a new retrofittable performance improvement package that enables airlines to open new routes and improve payload capacity and range, the companies said.
Doha-based Qatar Airways, as the launch customer, will be upgrading its entire fleet of 53 777s. Qatar Airways is the state-owned flag carrier of Qatar, operating a fleet of 34 Boeing 777-300ERs, nine 777-200LRs, and 10 777 Freighters.
Boeing provides 24/7 support and service to the global aviation industry, offering retrofits and modifications, and a portfolio of services.
