Aviation Week names 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award

Aviation Week & Space Technology, part of Penton´s Aviation Week Network, and The International Aviation Club of Washington, D.C. (IAC) have named international airline executive and aviation safety advocate Dave Barger this year´s recipient of the prestigious L. Welch Pogue Lifetime Achievement Award.

Barger joins a long line of preeminent Welch Pogue Award winners who have helped shape modern commercial air transportation. He will be honored at the Annual L. Welch Pogue Award Dinner in Washington, D.C., on June 1, 2016 at Jones Day, 51 Louisiana Avenue NW, Washington, D.C.

The L. Welch Pogue Award was first presented in 1994 to L. Welch Pogue, former chairman of the Civil Aviation Board and a US Delegate at the Chicago Convention, which created the legal blueprint for post-WWII expansion of commercial aviation.
