Aviacomm, Newracom introduce IoT applications using sub-1GHz ISM frequency bands

Aviacomm Inc., a developer of integrated RF (radio frequency) circuits and Newracom Inc., a wireless solutions innovator, have collaborated to develop a high-performance IEEE 802.11ah modem for Machine to Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications, the companies said.

The IEEE 802.11ah standard extends the utility of the wi-fi standard by adding features designed to meet the unique requirements of M2M and IoT applications. HaLow uses lower frequencies (from 755MHz to 928MHz globally), which propagate over distances and penetrate obstacles like doors and walls.

Aviacomm Inc. offers RF integrated circuits that address various markets and applications.

Newracom Inc. is a technology-intensive global startup in wireless technologies for enabling communication and connection. The company had its origin within ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute), a ICT research institute in Korea.
