Average ticket prices are down 1.2% YoY

Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) reported that the average US roundtrip ticket price for September 2017 was USD 467, up from USD 456 in August, the company said.

Average September 2017 ticket prices are down 1.2 percent compared to September 2016.

The consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by US-based travel agencies decreased 1.3 percent in September as compared to September 2016, totaling USD 7 billion vs. USD 7.1 billion. The number of passenger trips* settled by ARC for US travel agencies also decreased 1.2 percent to 21,492,539 compared to 21,753,323 in September 2016.

Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD) sales in September 2017 comprised almost USD 5.3 million, a nearly 8 percent decrease over September 2016. EMD transactions also decreased approximately 16 percent to 90,355 in September 2017 vs. 107,344 in 2016.
