Synerion reports acquisition of ITR Systems Division

Synerion expects this acquisition to result in more effective, efficient and superior solutions for the clients of both Synerion and ITR.

The combined company has some 20,000 customers worldwide.

Telestream to be acquired by private equity firm Thoma Bravo

Telestream, a provider of video transcoding and digital media software solutions, revealed on Wednesday that it has entered into an agreement to be acquired by private equity investment firm Thoma Bravo LLC.

This investment in the company is expected to facilitate growth within Telestream’s core businesses, in addition to providing capital for further market expansion and acquisitions.

Following the acquisition by Thoma Bravo, Telestream will continue to operate independently with its existing management teams continuing their current roles. Its headquarters will remain in Nevada City, California, with offices in Virginia, Sweden and Germany.

The transaction is expected to be completed in early January 2012.

Elisa signs new loan agreement with Nordic Investment Bank

The maturity of the bullet loan is seven years. Elisa will use the financing to expand the company’s 3G and broadband networks.

Part of Elisa’s investments co-financed with the loan from NIB are aimed at increasing the coverage, speed and capacity of its mobile broadband networks, particularly in rural areas of Finland.

The Nordic Investment Bank is the common international financial institution of the eight Nordic and Baltic countries.

ARINC and Amor Group partner to offer automated wait time technology to North American airports

ARINC Managed Services (AMS) on Tuesday announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with IT company Amor Group to offer Amor’s BLIPTrack wait time solution to the North American aviation market.

Under the terms of the strategic partnership AMS will use its airport IT resources throughout North America to provide a delivery and support network for the Amor PAXPath+ suite of airport technologies, including BLIPTrack automated wait time measurement.

BLIPTrack management of airport queues is seen as part of customer service at airports as new, bigger aircraft come into service and there is increased passenger pressure on airports.

mydlink-enabled cameras feature built-in CPUs and web servers for high-quality live streaming video sent directly to the network without a PC.

The mydlink+ app is available now at the Apple App Store and the Android Marketplace for USD0.99 through 31 December 31 2011. Beginning 1 January 2012, it will be available for USD4.99. The Wireless N Network Camera DCS-930L and Wireless N Day/Night Home Network Camera DCS-932L are priced at USD79.99 and USD99.99, respectively.

Discovery Air Technical Services (DATS), a subsidiary of Canadian speciality aviation company Discovery Air Inc, announced on Monday that its new subsidiary Aero Vision Technologies International (AVTi) is to be located at the Saguenay Airport QC (CYBG, also known as Bagotville), where it will begin the construction of a Research and Development Centre.

The company said AVTi, with a mandate to develop software solutions for the aviation market, has formed a joint venture with Boston-based Visidyne, a provider of airborne and space data collection and processing. AVTi has also entered into technological agreements with DATAFACE from Houston and Wan IT from Brussels. It plans to integrate DATAFACE and Wan IT technology in the initial offering of AVTi products and to provide customer care and support.

President of DATS and AVTi, Jean Genest, also stated that he has chosen International Consultant Yves. L. Leblicq to take the lead of AVTi.

Since the deployment was completed QlikView has been used to automate waiting list management and enhance KPI reporting. The solution has also allowed service users to interact with their own data in a way they have never been able to do before, Trustmarque said.

IBM to acquire spend management software provider Emptoris

IT company IBM (NYSE:IBM) revealed today that it has agreed to acquire Emptoris Inc, a provider of cloud and on-premise analytics software for spend, supplier and contract management.

IBM said that Emptoris’ spend management solutions complement the B2B integration and supply chain management capabilities acquired by IBM through its acquisition of Sterling Commerce in 2010.

The addition of Emptoris brings to IBM Smarter Commerce a set of flexible and integrated solutions that orchestrate and manage the sourcing and procurement of goods and materials as part of supply chain management. This is expected to allow IBM to deliver more solutions focused on the needs of sourcing and procurement professionals, the company said.

Emptoris is based in Burlington, Massachusetts and has offices in the US, UK, France, Germany, Australia, India, Brazil and China.

Avnet to acquire assets of Nexicore Services

Avnet Inc (NYSE:AVT), a distributor of electronic components and computer products, said on Monday that it has agreed to acquire substantially all the assets of Nexicore Services LLC and its parent company Hartford Computer Group Inc.

Nexicore provides repair and installation services in North America for consumer electronics and computers, operating in three complementary business lines of depot repair, onsite repair & installation and parts distribution. The company voluntarily entered into Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings on Monday.

Following the acquisition, which is subject to Bankruptcy Court approval, the Nexicore business will become part of Avnet Integrated Resources, which provides reverse logistics and after-market services to the technology industry. Nexicore’s approximately 500 employees will be offered positions with Avnet Integrated Resources.

The sale is expected to be completed within 120 days.
