Williams Aerospace & Manufacturing completes acquisition of Aerospace Welding

Kellstrom Defense company Williams Aerospace and Manufacturing (WAM) has announced it has acquired California-based Aerospace Welding (AWI), the company said.

Aerospace Welding is an OEM certified source for precision welding processes, that include spot, seam, stud, and flash welding services for the aerospace and defense markets. The AWI technical data, tooling, and machine capabilities will become part of the current Kellstrom Defense (KDA) Engineered Products operating segment.

AWI has been a long-term special process provider and an OEM approved source for welding services on a wide range of military aircraft and helicopter platforms including the E-2, F-15, F-16, C-130, B-52, P-3, SH-60, and has additional capabilities applicable to other aviation platforms.

KDA was represented by Christine Shin and Jacob Agi of the Los Angeles based law firm Russ August & Kabat to complete the purchase agreement for this exclusive transaction, which was originated by the KDA internal deal team. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Turkcell Opens Solar-Powered Data Center in Ankara

With Ankara-based data center´s launch, Turkcell (NYSE: TKC) (BIST: TCELL) has reached the largest area under data centers in Turkey with a total of 33,500 square meters whitespace, the company said.

AT&T elects board of directors member

AT&T Inc.* (NYSE: T) has announced that Stephen Luczo has been elected to the company´s board of directors, effective immediately, the company said.

Luczo, 62, is Chairman of the Board of Seagate Technology and has served in this role since 2002. From October 2017 to October 2018, he also served as Executive Chairman. Before that, he served two tenures as CEO and Chairman.

Luczo´s election brings the number of seats on the AT&T board of directors to 14.

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority awards contract to Pointr for wayfinding technology

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) has announced it has awarded a six-figure contract to deep location technology provider Pointr for wayfinding technology that provides indoor location GPS for Washington Dulles International (IAD) and Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA), the company said.

Pointr´s Deep Location technology aims to enhance the passenger experience at each airport by directing people to the correct queue and gate. Smartphones collect and process signals emitted by Bluetooth sensors installed around the airport for navigation.
