Atos has completed IT delivery for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, sharing results in real time, the company said.
As Worldwide IT Partner to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Atos delivered the IT systems, supported the recruitment of volunteers and issued accreditations to all participants including media and athletes.
Atos said with less than 18 months to the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games and Paralympic Games, it has a 28-member team in South Korea, and has begun IT testing.
In PyeongChang 2018, IT systems will be the delivered through the cloud, changing the IT model for the Olympic and Paralympic Games from a build each time to a build once model.
To support the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Atos first team members are expected to arrive in Japan before the end of the year.
