AT&T (NYSE: T) has invested nearly USD400 million in its Boston area wireless and wired networks during 2013 -2015, which drive upgrades to enhance reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and businesses, and critical services that support public safety and first responders, the company said.
In 2015, AT&T made 11 wireless network upgrades in the area, including activating new cell sites and enhancing network capacity for local customers.
The AT&T LTE network covers 365 million people in North America. In 2015, the company activated new cell sites in Boston and Lowell, added additional free wi-fi hotspots in Boston´s Downtown Crossing and Back Bay neighborhoods, enhanced its wireless network at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and accommodated heavy traffic at the Boston Marathon and Deutsche Bank Championship golf tournament.
AT&T Inc. offers entertainment, mobile, high speed Internet and voice services in the US and 11 Latin American countries.
