AT&T gigabit Internet speeds reach 5 major metro areas in North Carolina

AT&T (NYSE: T) has offered ultra-fast Internet service of up to one gigabit per second over 100 percent fiber network to North Carolina homes, apartments and small businesses, the company said.

The company worked with property owners and residents in Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh-Durham and Winston-Salem. to make ultra-fast speeds available to nearly 20,000 individual apartment units located at more than 80 apartment complexes in the state.

From 2013 through 2015, AT&T invested more than USD1.65 billion in its wireline and wireless networks in North Carolina.

As part of AT&T´s agreement with the North Carolina Next Generation Network project, the company provides access to free Internet at affordable housing complexes for low-income residents in Raleigh and Chapel Hill.

AT&T GigaPower network is available in over 1.6 million locations across 25 of the nation´s largest metro areas.
