Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste, S.A.B. de C.V. (NYSE: ASR; BMV: ASUR) said its first quarter 2016 total passenger traffic increased year-over-year by 8.93 percent, reflecting growth of 13.04 percent in domestic passenger traffic and 6.53 percent in international passenger traffic.
The 13.04 percent increase in domestic passenger traffic was driven by increases across most of ASUR´s airports, with the exception of MinatitlÃ¡n and Villahermosa, where traffic declined 1.81 percent and 1.15 percent, respectively. The 6.53 percent growth in international passenger traffic resulted mainly from an increase of 6.92 percent in traffic at the CancÃºn airport
Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste is a Mexican airport operator with concessions to operate, maintain and develop the airports of CancÃºn, MÃ©rida, Cozumel, Villahermosa, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Huatulco, Tapachula and MinatitlÃ¡n in the southeast of MÃ©xico, as well as a 50 percent JV partner in Aerostar Airport Holdings, LLC, operator of the Luis MuÃ±oz MarÃn International Airport of Puerto Rico.
