Coriant, a global supplier of SDN-enabled end-to-end packet optical networking solutions, has been chosen by Internet Multifeed Co., an Internet exchange (IX) provider and operator of the Japan Network Access Point (JPNAP), to scale its backbone network as end-user demand for Internet content drives growth in data traffic, the company said.
The high-performance Coriant Data Center Interconnect (DCI) solution, delivered in cooperation with Coriant´s local partner UNIADEX, links major data centers in the metropolitan Tokyo region and enables JPNAP to rapidly deploy agile and resilient high-speed IX services.
JPNAP selected the Coriant Groove G30 DCI solution for its industry- high density, low power consumption, ease of operation, and short delivery lead time, as well as its ability to meet the high-availability, high-quality service demands of JPNAP customers, including Tier 1 service providers, Internet Content Providers (ICPs), cloud providers, and large enterprises. The JPNAP backbone deployment utilizes 200G coherent optical transmission and supports a broad range of end-user services, including 100G client-side services that can be deployed quickly, easily, and cost-efficiently.
Established in 1997 and funded by Japan´s ISPs and Internet Content Providers, Internet Multifeed is a pioneer in Internet Data Center services.
