ARC says average US roundtrip ticket price rose in April 2017

Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) has reported that the average US roundtrip ticket price for April 2017 was USD 501, up from USD 498 in March, and prices are up approximately USD 20 from April 2016, the company said.

Results are based on monthly sales data ending April 30, 2017, from 12,288 US retail and corporate travel agency locations, satellite ticket printing offices and online travel agencies, and do not include sales of tickets purchased directly from airlines.

The consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by US-based travel agencies increased 1.3% in April as compared to 2016, totaling USD 7.8bn vs. USD 7.7.

ARC drives air travel intelligence and commerce in the travel industry with business solutions, travel agency accreditation services, process and financial management tools, and high-quality data. In 2016, the company settled USD 86bn worth of carrier ticket transactions for nearly 7,000 travel agencies with more than 12,000 points of sale.
