Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC), the premier driver of air travel intelligence and commerce in the travel industry, reported the average US roundtrip ticket price for May 2017 was USD 506, up from USD 501 in April, the company said.
Average ticket prices are up approximately USD 5 from May 2016.
The consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by US-based travel agencies increased nearly 7 percent in May as compared to 2016, totaling USD 8.3 billion vs. USD 7.8 billion. The number of passenger trips* settled by ARC for US travel agencies also increased approximately 7 percent to 24,210,200 compared to nearly 22,721,000 in May 2016.

Results are based on monthly sales data ending May 31, 2017, from 12,266 US retail and corporate travel agency locations, satellite ticket printing offices and online travel agencies. Results do not include sales of tickets purchased directly from airlines.
