Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) has announced consolidated value of airline tickets sold by US travel agencies was USD 8.2 billion, an increase of 11% in October as compared to USD 7.4 billion October 2017, the company said.
The average US round-trip ticket price for October 2018 was USD 509, up USD 23 from the same time in 2017.
The total number of passenger trips settled by ARC for U.S. travel agencies increased approximately 5 percent to 25,023,323 compared to 23,914,873 in October 2017. US domestic trips increased more than 2 percent while international passenger trips increased nearly 10 percent.
Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD) sales in October 2018 totaled USD 6.1 million, an almost 6 percent increase compared to October 2017. EMD transactions also increased 0.92 percent to 100,655 in October 2018 vs. 99,740 in October 2017.
ARC is an industry leader in air travel distribution and intelligence that settled USD 88.5 billion in ticket transactions in 2017 between airlines and travel agencies, representing more than 287 million passenger trips.
