American Airlines has announced employees have voted to adopt new Modern Voyage uniforms for frontline employees to debut in the fourth quarter of 2019, the company said.
The airline´s frontline uniform advisory team (FUAT) chose between Skybound and Modern Voyage uniforms supplied by Wisconsin-based Lands´ End.
FUAT said the Modern Voyage´s shirting fabrics and scarves and ties were a deciding factor in the vote.
A second wave of outfits, with bolder designs, will come in the first quarter of 2021. The field test of the first phase of Lands´ End uniforms will begin on Nov. 13 of this year and run through April 30, 2019.
American Airlines and American Eagle offer an average of nearly 6,700 flights per day to nearly 350 destinations in more than 50 countries.
