American Airlines passenger service employees approve 5-year contract

The Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (CWA-IBT), representing the 14,500 US-based passenger service employees at American Airlines, said their members approved a new five-year contract, including immediate and significant pay raises.

“Our passenger service employees have played a critical role in the integration of our airline and we rely on them to give our customers the best service in the industry,” said Kerry Philipovitch, American Airlines Senior Vice President — Customer Experience.

American Airlines Group (NASDAQ: AAL) is the holding company for American Airlines. Together with regional partners operating as American Eagle, American offers an average of nearly 6,700 flights per day to nearly 350 destinations in more than 50 countries. American is a founding member of the oneworld alliance, whose members and members-elect serve nearly 1,000 destinations with 14,250 daily flights to 150 countries.
