American Airlines names new vice president of network/schedule planning

American Airlines has announced Brian Znotins has been named vice president of network and schedule planning where he will guide the development and implementation of the airlines´ global network and hub strategy, the company said.

Znotins joins American from WestJet, where he spent the past three years as the airline´s vice president of network, alliances and corporate development. During his time there, Znotins led a redesign of three critical hubs, drove schedule quality improvement, designed a Canada-United States joint venture and introduced a new strategy to reach the premium traveller market.

Prior to WestJet, Znotins spent more than 17 years at United Airlines and Continental Airlines, where he held numerous leadership positions, including Vice president of network and managing director of international and long-range planning.
