iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS) has reported South African Wi-Fi will use iPass SmartConnect software development kit (SDK) to offer customers free access to 44 million Wi-Fi hotspots located in airports, airplanes, hotels and other public areas, the company said.
AlwaysOn is a subsidiary of Dimension Data and owns more than 2,500 hotspots across South Africa, which are already part of the iPass network. Using the iPass SDK, AlwaysOn is building a new branded application that will provide its customers with secure global Wi-Fi access.
iPass (NASDAQ: IPAS) is a cloud-based provider of global mobile connectivity, offering Wi-Fi access mobile devices.
AlwaysOn is a wholly owned subsidiary of Internet Solutions (IS), a pan-African service provider.
