Allegiant reports 71% decrease in May 2020 passenger traffic

Allegiant Travel Company (NASDAQ: ALGT) 362,528 passengers in May 2020, compared to 1,269,459 in May 2019, a decrease of 71.4%, the company said.

Revenue passenger miles (RPKs) in May 2020 were 326,748, compared to 1,093,781 in May 2019, a decrease of 70.1%.

Capacity, as measured by available seat miles (ASMs) was 690,624, compared to 1,308,911 in May 2019, a decrease of 47.2%.

Load factor in May 2020 was 47.3%, a decrease of 36.3pts, compared to 83.6% in May 2019.

For the entire month Allegiant averaged over USD 2 million in gross bookings per day. As such, the company is anticipating a cash burn per day in the second quarter to be down to approximately USD 1.75 million.
