Allegiant flight dispatchers vote to join Teamsters

Allegiant Air has reported its flight dispatchers voted to join the International Brotherhood of Teamsters by a margin of 25 to four, the company said.

The employees were members of the union until 2015 when a management-driven, anti-union decertification vote occurred.

Teamster Allegiant pilots ratified their first union contract with the airline on July 28, 2016. It provided substantial improvements in compensation, benefits and scheduling. Pilots immediately received up to 31 percent pay increases, high quality health insurance and greater job security. They are represented by Teamsters Local 1224.

Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents 1.4 million men and women throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
