Allegiant breaks ground Orlando training center

Allegiant (NASDAQ: ALGT) has broken ground on the airline´s new USD24 million East Coast training center, located adjacent to Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) in Sanford, Florida, the company said.

The company said the facility is expected to be completed and equipped to begin hosting training for Allegiant flight crew members and mechanics by the first quarter of 2017. The East Coast training center will have the capacity to train 150 pilots, 500 flight attendants and 100 mechanics annually, on a full range of flight simulator, cabin trainers, and classroom resources for A320 and MD80 aircraft.

Las Vegas-based Allegiant offers low fares on an all-jet fleet of 80 aircraft and serves more than 300 routes to 70 cities across the US.
