All Nippon Airways to replace 100 Rolls engines on 787s

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has reported it plans to replace all 100 Rolls-Royce engines on its fleet of Boeing (BA.N) 787 dreamliners, the company said.

The company said the decision was made following three engine failures this year caused by corrosion and cracking of turbine blades. ANA said all 50 of its 787s will receive engines fitted with new blades, and it plans to replace all the 100 engines for enhanced safety measures.

ANA said four 787s remain grounded and it has canceled 18 domestic flights due to the engine problem.

All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd., is a large airline in Japan with headquarters at Shiodome City Center in the Shiodome area of Minato, Tokyo, Japan.
