Alaska Airlines to fly Bellingham to Big Island

Alaska Airlines will begin weekly flights between Bellingham, Washington and Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii, the company said.

The nonstop, seasonal service to Kona begins Nov. 12 and ends April 1, 2017.

The flights will be operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, accommodating 16 passengers in first class and 147 in the main cabin.

With the new weekly Kona flight, Alaska will offer nine peak-season flights from Bellingham, which includes five, year-round daily flights to Seattle and one year-round daily flight to Portland, Oregon; as well as seasonal daily service to Las Vegas and seasonal, four-times weekly service to Maui.
