The PERT® thrust reverser from Aircelle (Safran) has been selected by Cessna Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, to equip the new Citation Longitude super-midsize business jet.
Aircelle will have a direct supplier role to the US aircraft manufacturer for these thrust reversers, which are to equip the Longitude´s two Honeywell HTF7700L turbofan engines.
The patented PERT (Planar Exit Rear Target) thrust reverser features two blocker doors that serve as the engine´s exhaust exit during flight, and are deployed on landing for the reverse thrust function. This concept combines thrust reverser effectiveness with an optimized weight.
Aircelle produces the PERT thrust reverser for numerous aircraft applications, with more than 1,200 delivered to date.
