Air Tanzania to add new routes in revival strategy

Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) has reported plans to start at least 11 new regular routes including Dodoma after receiving the two new aircraft expected next month, the company said.

The state-run airline currently flies only two routes: Kigoma and Comoros with only one aircraft but the new fleet is expected to restore the company´s business competitiveness.

Tanzania signed an agreement with Canadian Bombadier to purchase two commercial aircraft–D8 Q400 and they are expected to arrive in the third or fourth week of September this year.

Air Tanzania Company Limited is the flag carrier airline of Tanzania based in Dar es Salaam with its hub at Julius Nyerere International Airport.
