Air France names 1st female CEO

Air France has announced it has named executive vice president Anne Rigail as the its next CEO, making her the first woman to lead a major airline, the company said.

Rigail has been with the French carrier for over 27 years, and will replace acting CEO Benjamin Smith.

Air France is the French flag carrier headquartered in Tremblay-en-France. It is a subsidiary of the Air France–KLM Group and a founding member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance.
