Air Canada resumes Fort McMurray flights

Air Canada has resumed flights to Fort McMurry following the reopening of the airport to limited commercial flights, the company said.

The airline said it is adding capacity from cities across Canada to Alberta and scheduling larger aircraft including its 400-seat Boeing 777 aircraft to Alberta. The airline expects to ramp up to a full schedule, once the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry operational restrictions for commercial airlines are lifted.

Air Canada normally operates up to two daily flights between Fort McMurray and Toronto, and up to 10 daily Air Canada Express flights between Fort McMurray and Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.

Air Canada is a large Canadian domestic and international airlines serving more than 200 airports on six continents. Air Canada provides scheduled passenger service directly to 64 airports in Canada, 55 in the United States and 87 in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America and South America.
