Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV: AEROMEX) has reported December 2016 operational results, including increases in number of passengers transported, demand, capacity, and load factor, the company said.
Grupo Aeromexico transported 1,762,0000 passengers in December, a 6.6% year-on-year increase. International passenger numbers increased by 8.4% while domestic passenger numbers increased by 5.6%.
Demand, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPKs), increased by 11.9%, year-on-year. Aeromexico´s capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), increased by 10.0% year-on-year.
Aeromexico´s December load factor was 80.5%, an increase of 1.3 p.p. compared to the same period of 2015. AeromexicoÂ´s 2016 load factor was 80.3%, an increase of 0.6 p.p. compared to 2015. Load Factor equals the number of passengers transported as a percentage of the number of seats offered. It is a measure of the airline´s capacity utilization. This metric takes into account the total passengers transported and total seats available in itinerary flights only.
