Aerojet Rocketdyne, Inc., a subsidiary of Aerojet Rocktdyne Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AJRD) has designed and developed a payload of six lithium-ion batteries that were delivered to the international space station, the company said.
The company said the payload gives astronauts the power they need to continue their research aboard the station. Once installed, the batteries will become part of the electrical power system (EPS). Aerojet Rocketdyne contributed to the space station´s EPS design, which includes the batteries, solar arrays and power distribution system.
