Jakarta Post has announced EVA Air has maintained its rank as the 9th safest airline in the world, by Germany´s AERO International magazine, the news source said.
EVA Air, located in Taiwan, has consistently ranked in the world´s top-100 safest airlines since JACDEC began its safety ranking in 2003.
Prior to the announcement, the airline was previously recognized by airline safety and product rating website airlinerating.com as the third-safest airline behind Qantas and Air New Zealand.
Published monthly, AREO International bases its safety rankings on data provided by the Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Centre (JACDEC). A risk index used by JACDEC assesses 33 parameters for annual overall safety rankings to compare each airline. Airlines are evaluated on fleet age, IATA flight safety audits, serious flight accidents and flight losses.
