Actiontec MoCA Wi-Fi extenders achieve near-gigabit speeds

Actiontec Electronics WCB6200Q MoCA Wi-Fi extenders achieved near-gigabit Wi-Fi speeds in an independent field test commissioned by the MoCA Alliance — surpassing some of the most popular mesh solutions by an average of several hundred Mbps, the company said.

The Actiontec WCB6200Q Wi-Fi extenders feature bonded MoCA 2.0, enabling consumers to use existing cable wiring as a backhaul for extending the Wi-Fi network beyond the primary router, as opposed to mesh solutions that use Wi-Fi as the backhaul.

The consistent performance of Actiontec´s Wi-Fi extenders is a crucial consideration in today´s connected home, as consumers engage in higher-bandwidth activities on a growing number of wireless devices.

Actiontec wireless network extenders feature the latest advances in Wi-Fi technology, including 4×4 802.11ac, Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO), and an advanced antenna design. The extenders also include Actiontec´s SmartSteering technology that enables Wi-Fi gateways and network extenders to steer connected devices to the best Wi-Fi band, channel, and access point for optimum performance everywhere in the home.
