ACL Airshop, a supplier of products and services for the global air cargo industry, has promoted of Pieter van Calcar to the position of director and general manager, Asia Pacific Operations, based in Singapore and Hong Kong, the company said.
Since its original founding in 1983, ACL Airshop, has become a one-stop shop for leasing, sales, repair and management of Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and cargo net/strap manufacturing for the aviation industry. The company operates on six continents, at more than half of the world´s top fifty air cargo hub airports.
Van Calcar has over 30 years´ business experience in Asia, with over 20 of those years serving the air cargo markets. The Asia Pacific region is considered a strategic priority by ACL´s board of directors due to the long-term growth trends expected there. He is designated as a full member of the executive team for ACL Airshop, with broad responsibility and authority across the company´s burgeoning operations in his geographic region. He held senior regional management roles prior to ACL Airshop in air cargo-related companies such as VRR and Zodiac/Driessen.
